Civil War Board Game

What went wrong
Because we were focusing on adding and moving armies, we forgot to keep track of the turns. This meant that we didn't get to explore the possibilty of Lincoln losing the 1864 election, or the South dragging the war out long enough for the North to recognize the Confederacy, or for Great Britain to intervene on its behalf. In the future, I would specifically assign a student to keep track of the turns.

As anticipated, not everyone had an interest in the game. If using this game as a classroom station, I would create a rubric which made sure students played at least a certain number of turns.

In the future, I would also require students to write a reflection paragh on the game to make sure the correct information had been conveyed.
